2011 Primary and General Elections
This year, elections will be held for the Mississippi Legislature and most county and statewide offices. Primary elections were held August 2 and primary runoff elections were held August 23, 2011.

The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011
Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m.
In the General Election, Mississippians may vote a "split" ticket for candidates in any combination of parties. Before you vote, check the candidates' positions on education issues, including MAEP funding, early childhood education, improving student achievement and more. Voters who will be outside their county of residence on Election Day are entitled to vote by absentee ballot. Please check with your county voter registrar (your Circuit or Municipal Clerk) to determine if you are entitled to vote absentee and to learn the procedures for doing so. The last day for absentee voting in person is the Saturday prior to the election in which you wish to vote.

Circuit Clerks' offices will be open until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5.
